Don't get in over your head! Especially when working on a car that could be worth more than your house! This is the shift shaft of a TH400 in a big block 1968 Corvette, the first year of the TH400 for the Vette. Someone decided to try and replace the leaking shift shaft seal, using a tiny axe or something. DO NOT ATTEMPT IT. BUY THE PROPER SEAL REMOVER/INSTALLER TOOL. IT IS MUCH CHEAPER THAT YOUR EFFORTS AND THE COST TO HAVE IT REPAIRED PROPERLY. :)

68 Vette. TH400 rear thrust washer & tailshaft bushing. Possibly towing damage caused by driveshaft still in place without engine running.
