A great way to help social distance this Thanksgiving is hosting your gathering poolside!

A few tips for dog owners who let their furry friends enjoy the pool with them 😊

1. Clean your pool after each use and service your filter regularly. Dog hair clogs up the filter and does not allow optimal filtering. They say that one dog in the pool is equivalent to 50 humans!!

2. Keep an eye on the chlorine level. ...high chlorine levels are not ideal for your pets skin and coat. It’s recommended to have a salt conversion pool if you plan on letting your pets swim.

3. When your pets are swimming with younger swimmers keep a close eye out... they tend to paddle on fellow swimmers and can jeopardize safety.

CHLORINE LOCK 🔒 can occur when there is too much CYANURIC ACID (also referred to as conditioner or stabilizer) in the water. This occurs when too much stabilizer is added to the water. Commonly happens when people use too many chlorine tablets. Chlorine lock can also occur if the pH is unbalanced for extended periods of time. If your water is balanced and filtering properly but remains GREEN it most likely needs a partial drain and fill. I have yet to find a chemical that actually helps unlock with out adding fresh and diluting existing pool water.
