📢 IRS Announces Higher HSA & HDHP Limits for 2027

The IRS has released the 2027 inflation-adjusted limits for Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and High Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs), giving employees more opportunities to save for healthcare expenses tax-free.

🔹 2027 HSA Contribution Limits
✔️ Self-only coverage: $4,500 (up from $4,400)
✔️ Family coverage: $9,000 (up from $8,750)
✔️ Age 55+ catch-up contribution: $1,000 (no change)

🔹 2027 HDHP Minimum Deductibles
✔️ Self-only: $1,750 (up from $1,700)
✔️ Family: $3,500 (up from $3,400)

🔹 2027 HDHP Maximum Out-of-Pocket Limits
✔️ Self-only: $8,700 (up from $8,500)
✔️ Family: $17,400 (up from $17,000)

💡 Employers sponsoring HDHPs should begin reviewing plan designs, employee communications, payroll processes, and contribution elections to ensure compliance with the new limits for the 2027 plan year.

✅ Last Wednesday, the HRPro team had the privilege of volunteering with MCHS Family of Services at their Detroit campus—and it was truly meaningful.

👉 This campus provides a safe and supportive home for moms and their children, offering them up to two years to rebuild, regain stability, and prepare for a brighter future. Being part of a space dedicated to helping families get back on their feet was both humbling and inspiring.

👍 MCHS has been creating impact since 1917, growing from a small act of compassion into a vital network of services supporting children, families, and older adults across Michigan. Their mission to ensure everyone feels seen, heard, and cared for is something we deeply admire.
