Vietnam Memorial Wall - 6/23/2026 - Part 3 - The End
The Vietnam Memorial wall came through Roy this afternoon. The notice was short. The turnout was one family, a FB friend I met for the first time, Ray, and me. We waved flags to honor and acknowledge the vets in the procession as well as those who didnβt make it home. Thank you for your service!! Proud to be an American!!! Vietnam War Memorial - 6/23/2026 - Part 2
I saw the post at noon this afternoon. The actual time was a little unclear because it sounded to me as if they were going through Rainier at 2:00. Ray grabbed our small flags and we drove to town. Only one family and one of my FB friends was there. We met in person for the first time. It was very touching seeing all of those vets on bikes and I am glad I was there to honor and acknowledge them and their service. Proud to be an American!! Please like, share and follow.

Vietnam Memorial Wall - Part 1 - 6/23/2026
Around noon today, I learned the memorial wall would be coming through Roy around 2:00 PM, although the notification was a little unclear since it mentioned Rainier first. Ray and I loaded up our flags and drove to town around 2:00 PM to watch the procession. I was saddened to see only one family and a FB friend that I met in person for the first time. I am glad we were there to cheer them on and let them know they were not forgotten. Proud to be an American!!! Please like, share and follow. πΊπΈποΈπ»πΊπΈπΊπΈπ»ποΈπΊπΈ
Muck Creek - Roy City Park - Roy, WA
I am working between phones right now as my old one died and my new one is not quite up to speed. Shouldnβt this be easier?? LOL!! Here is the video with sound. There is a huge difference between April and June due to the lack of water in the creek. Sorry for the glitch!! Please like, share and follow.ποΈποΈποΈποΈ
Roy City Park - Roy, WA - 4/5/2026 and 6/18/2026 - The last time I was at the park I took a Harvest Host guest, and now friend, to show her what she had only seen in pictures and video. On 6/18, I took our Airbnb guest to the park to show her and her kids the playground. I was shocked to see the difference in the creek. I had not expected to see it overgrown with grass. I wish I had monitored the creek level dropping, as much as I had it rising. Please like, share and follow. ποΈπποΈπποΈ
Muck Creek - Roy City Park - Roy, WA - 6/18/2026
I took Airbnb guests to the park so their kids could play in the playground. I could not believe the difference in the water level of the creek!! It is almost completely overgrown with grass. I was shocked. Please like, share and follow. ποΈπποΈπποΈ
Basks Sienna Kismet - Barn name - Pecan - DOB 6/18/2000 / Horizontal Pool Noodles
Part of Pecanβs birthday celebration was working on what I had set up in the arena. Lucky her!! She had already gone through the horizontal pool noodles in one direction, I gave her a break before asking her to go in the opposite direction. It wasnβt quite as slow and precise as I would have liked, but overall I was happy with the results. Please like, share and follow. π΄π΄π΄π΄
Pecan encountered the horizontal pool noodles for the first time. The birthday girl went from rushing and swinging out her hindquarters to walking slowly, thinking and stopping straight at the end. Please like, share and follow. π΄π΄π΄π΄ Arabian Horse Association
Basks Sienna Kismet - Barn name - Pecan DOB 6/18/2000 Parallel Pool Noodles
After asking Pecan to go through the pool noodles in one direction, I gave her a break and asked her to change direction. For a horse, changing direction turned this into an entirely new challenge. Instead of showing the finished product I decided to show some of what it takes to teach a horse while asking them to work slowly and think about the task at hand. Basks Sienna Kismet - Barn name Pecan - 6/18/2000 - The Raised Platform.
Of course Pecan has to work on her birthday. No freebies here!! She had never seen the raised platform before as this is new since the last time I worked with her. Asking her to pivot around it is just one way to work with your horse. Once Pecan slowed down I was able to ask her to cross over with her hind feet rather than just bringing the feet together. Working slowly, steadily and with purpose is the name of the game and creates a trusting relationship with your horse which ultimately keeps you safe.
