Today, we proudly celebrate Juneteenth, a day that commemorates freedom and the enduring pursuit of equality.

Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when news of emancipation finally reached enslaved African Americans in Texas, which was more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This historic day serves as a reminder of our nation's journey toward freedom and the importance of building inclusive, connected communities.

Join us this month as we gather for fellowship, honor Flag Day, celebrate Juneteenth, recognize Father’s Day, and continue our Flag Lease Program deployments throughout the community.

• Flag Day – June 14
• Business Meeting – June 18

We look forward to serving alongside our members, volunteers, and community partners all month long!

That’s right! With Flag Day fast approaching, we are out deploying flags across the city this week. As a friendly reminder, flags will remain out through July 4th. After which point, they will be picked up. 😊👍

Should Rowlett face any inclement weather between now and then, please feel free to bring your flag in and replace it as the weather permits. ⛈️

It’s invigorating to be surrounded by like-minded community members at local businesses. Giving back to the community takes on many forms. It can look like supporting your favorite hometown restaurant, sparking conversation with your neighbors, or cleaning up a nearby park. That’s the beauty of fellowship. Sometimes, it doesn’t take more than showing up, having a drink, and picking a spot at the table. 💙
