☀️ Safety Tip: With summer here, more people are out shopping, traveling, visiting parks, and spending time around neighborhoods. Please remember to lock your vehicles, remove valuables from plain sight, and never leave fi****ms, wallets, purses, or garage door openers inside your car. A few seconds of prevention can help stop a crime of opportunity.
What happened in May? Our latest Monthly Activity Snapshot highlights the calls, crime trends, traffic enforcement, and proactive work our officers handled throughout the month to help keep Rowlett safe.

The Rowlett Police Department is proud to have assisted FBI Dallas in Operation Soteria Shield, a major law enforcement operation focused on protecting children from online sexual exploitation and holding offenders accountable.
Crimes involving the exploitation of children demand a firm, coordinated, and relentless response. This operation brought law enforcement agencies together with one shared mission: identify those who prey on children, support efforts to rescue victims, and help bring offenders to justice.
Rowlett detectives worked alongside neighboring agencies in Rockwall County, including Royse City Police Department, Rockwall Police Department, and the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office, as part of this coordinated effort.
“This operation sends a clear message: those who exploit children will be pursued, investigated, and held accountable,” Chief Michael Denning said. “The Rowlett Police Department will continue to stand with our law enforcement partners, protect the most vulnerable members of our community, and do everything within our power to keep children safe.”
On Friday, May 29, FBI Dallas announced the results of Operation Soteria Shield, highlighting the success of this coordinated effort across Texas to rescue children from online exploitation and bring offenders to justice.
More information, including the full list of participating agencies, is available through FBI Dallas.
