Getting ready for a singing telegram at North Italia at the Domain. A lady asked me to sing a couple of Michael Buble songs at a restaurant for her friend who is turning 40. So I’ll will walk in with a portable pa and corded mic and sing “It Had to BE You,” “Feeling Good,” and finally, “You Make Me Feel So Young,”singing and dancing, get pics and head out. I occasionally do singing telegrams, Rat Pack, Country, Elvis or other.

Then I get on the road to Grapevine, Texas at the Ga***rd Texan Resort Hotel & Convention Center where I’ll be Elvis for a corporate casino party, 7:30-9:00pm.

Before I did Elvis, I was doing Tom Jones and Engelbert along with doing a Rat Pack sets. I had multiple projects cover bands, tribute bands, djing weddings, dances, and more. I get the most requests for Elvis but I enjoy doing all kinds of music. elvistributeaustin.com

People sometimes ask me what is your favorite tribute or style of music. I always say I like to perform or play the music that the audience wants to hear. Taylor Swift would not work well at a retirement home and I can assure you an Elvis Tribute Artist will struggle playing for a junior high audience.

It’s a lot of fun and I’m grateful to be alive, healthy, with a great wife and kids, and great family and friends.

Double header this weekend. Friday night at Berry Creek Country Club, and Saturday at a 70th birthday party for Kay at a country setting in Round Rock.

Last night I was at Tenroc Ranch in Salado for Holland ISD Prom something like 10 years in a row. It went great. While I was there, I met a former student from 13 years ago. I taught 25 years junior high English and 11 of those years at Kelly Lane Middle. Carson Monroe was my sixth grade student. I didn’t recognize him, maybe because of the beard, but it was good to see him again.

Elvis gram today. Pat and Ruth were out of the country and wanted to do something special for their father who had been a little sick lately. Elvis came in, sang a couple songs, hung out, talked a bit, and then Elvis has left the building.

John said, “My kids do a lot of things for me, but this was the best.”
