Reminder: Share your gifts in every room.

My 4 year old niece asked if I was selling books at the library. At her age, the question makes total sense. Books are only at the library in her eyes.

As a business owner, I challenge you to think bigger. So when invited me to showcase my books at her Moms on the Move brunch, I happily found a cute spot inside the venue and displayed the boys.

How are you thinking outside the box?

This summer encourage your children to read.

Here’s why:
•Reading builds comprehension. Comprehension is needed for understanding.
•Reading takes you places. That’s free travel.
•Local libraries need the support. You’ll be surprised at how many resources are in the library.
•Readers are leaders. Education is a gem that we all need to succeed.

During the summer months encourage your child to read by:
•Visiting the local library. I love trips to East Baton Rouge Parish Library
•Spend quiet moments reading together. BREC Parks are beautiful for outdoor reading.
•Discuss books together over ice cream. has amazing flavors to try.

“Can you sign my book?” still amazes me. And to ask for a picture too?! Day has been made.

I created The Huddle as a space to promote reading with and for boys.

Yesterday, the boys bragged on:
•Passing their AR tests
•selecting their own books
•how many books they can read in a month

This is a reminder that boys are readers too.

Book Four is written. Next up, illustrations. I’m excited to see what illustrates for the final book of this series!

As an author I’ve learned:
•Readers are some of the best people you’ll meet.
•Children will admire you like a superhero.
•Parents appreciate when you invest in their kids.
•Marketing is hard yet very rewarding.
•Networking builds confidence.
