WEATHER ALERT: A Tornado Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for our area through 11 p.m. Tuesday, April 12. This type of notification is issued when conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in and close to the watch area. Residents should have a plan in place to take cover in case a tornado warning is issued. If a Tornado Warning is issued for your area:

Go to the lowest floor of your home

Find the interior-most room, away from outside walls and windows

Protect yourself with thick blankets, bike helmet, etc.

Do not stay in your car or mobile home — seek sturdier structure immediately

The National Weather Service has indicated that severe storms are possible with primary threats including large hail and damaging winds. As indicated by the the above Watch, isolated tornadoes are also possible.Please stay weather aware. Local news and alerts are your best source of immediate weather-related information.

⚠️WEATHER ALERT⚠️ The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch that includes the Round Rock area through 10 p.m. A watch means conditions are favorable for the development of a tornado at this time. Large hail and damaging winds are also possible with these potentially severe storms.

If a Tornado Warning is issued by the NWS, go to a safe shelter immediately, such as a small interior room on the lowest level of a sturdy building. Stay away from windows, doors, and outside walls. Do not go under an overpass or bridge. You’re safer in a low, flat location. Watch out for flying debris that can cause injury or death. Use your arms to protect your head and neck.
