A Work in Progress Homestead

A new addition to the craziness! We adopted this gorgeous female bunny from our friends at Shady Acres Homestead. She is a beautiful and gentle girl. Our first bunny, Beau, came from them as well. We hope to breed for a litter in the next couple months once our hatches grow out of the brooder and we have more time to focus on baby bunnies. 🐰 We keep going back and forth between Agatha and Rosie for her name. I’d love everyone’s input in the comments! ❤️

I’m in a mood lately where I’m getting really really tired of the petty ass behavior of some people. To remove a post that would directly benefit a grieving family after the loss of their baby because you don’t like the person sharing it… get a fu***ng life. I don’t have the words to describe the level of evil you have to be or the hatred you just have stewing in your heart to do something like this.

Getting ourselves ready for the CB swap tomorrow! I’ll be bringing eggs and some 2ish week old chicks! The last thing I wanna do in the heat is organize things but we own a shower for a reason 😂

Huge shoutout to Ideal Poultry! I’ve done 2 orders with them and both have been an amazing experience. We hit nearly 90 degrees today and not a single passed away chick in the box, plus a few extras which I always appreciate. They also have a very friendly team that displays amazing customer service. I will continue to recommend them to anyone who wants a very fun and vast variety of chickens. ❤️

Idk if it’s the heat or what but I’m thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis close to going AWOL. Between dying birds, town zoning issues, permits, and just general Facebook drama I want to turn off my brain and just vanish for a bit. So much bad news today and I’m just over it.

If you need me, I will be sitting in front of the AC covered in aloe vera with a sun burn. Will I ever learn my lesson? Probably not. ☹️
