It’s a wrap! We ended the final summer camp with an impressive art show. The week was filled with creativity and fun ❤️

All set for the final pottery camp of summer. It has been an odd summer, missing the whole month of June with an injury. Lucky for me the kids I have had here more than made up for my wasted time! They are each so special to me ❤️

When you are a “maker” at your very core, being told you have to sit still for weeks is like someone just yanks the rug out from under you! So I found a few things that I could do with this free time. I finished a couple knitted blankets they have been taking up space and incomplete for a long time. And using fabrics and scraps I had on hand, spent a little time in the sewing room each day - awkwardly working with a leg brace but feeling pretty dang happy anyway. Yesterday I was even able to make it to the studio for the first time since my injury - everything was exactly as we left it on the last day of camp. I know in the long run this is just a blip of time and recovery is immiment, in the meantime I will keep myself busy. As swifties would say “a makers gotta make, make, make, make, make” 😎🌺🤣

Update on Webluk Farm: after my fall June 4th we had no choice except to reschedule camps until July. It feels like a long stretch without the kids here for camps but doctor says I’m healing nicely and I am encouraged by my new fancy brace! I am very thankful for friends who came to visit, your calls and texts have helped keep my stir crazy to a minimum. And I would be lost without the love and support of my husband and son who have cared for me ❤️, guess who isn’t a very good patient?
A very special thank you to the families who reacheduled their summer plans on short notice, I am looking forward to camps in July.
