I am generally refusing wood right now, but when my neighbor told me he had to take down this cherry tree, I couldn't pass up this gorgeous log!

New project. My first baby rattle. So cute!
The captive rings are fun, but sanding the inside was a pain.

First day in the shop in over a week and it's almost enough to make me cry. This maple burl was going to be beautiful.

This small vase is the first finished piece from a burl-covered, standing-dead maple tree I was able to harvest. Lots of gorgeous pieces on their way from this wood!

These bangles use nearly the same technique as the rings and I don't have to be as specific about the sizing. What do you think?

Took a class today on ring making. If only I were a jewelry-wearing kind of guy or was married to a jewelry-wearing kind of wife!
