It was another painful day here at the ranch. Our sweet Dakota crossed the rainbow bridge tonight into the arms of the Lord and grandma Susan.
Dakota was a sweet soul, a true gentle giant. She loved everything here at the ranch, especially the kids. She gave the best leaning hugs that could almost knock you over and had a sauntering walk that always reminded me of scar from the lion king. She also had the famous pyr paw she'd use to get your attention if she needed something, usually to be petted. She was anything but subtle with it, and always got her way. No one could say no to her sweet face!
9 years was not long enough to love her. She will be forever missed and leaves a huge void here at the ranch. We're never ready to say goodbye, even when we've had lots of practice. The good ones always leave with a piece of your heart.
Run free Coco Bear! You were the best of the best and so loved! We will miss you so much. Thank you for keeping the animals safe and for loving us so well!

The house is so quiet today. No more puppies to snuggle on the couch with..... except for all the grown puppies.
Time to get back to the rest of the ranch duties I've been neglecting. Stay tuned for fall updates here at Monticello Ranch!
Here's one last look at Bao, now Molly. Her last nap in my lap before she went home. May she and all the puppies have the best lives with the best familes!!

The weather cleared my schedule today so I got to stay in comfy clothes and snuggle my babies all day. When I said I was going to soak up every second, I meant it. Even though I've mostly been laid up on the couch with these two, I did manage to get caught up on laundry and some other chores.
They leave tomorrow and it's going to free up my schedule a lot, but it's going to be a very sad day otherwise. We've gotten so attached to these sweet girls. Even Oso has gotten used to them and allows them to lay with him now.

Belle and Bao (now Molly) soaking up their last few days together before they go home to their forever familes Saturday.
Gotta say, these extra couple weeks to snuggle these girls before they go home has been such a blessing. Down side is we're all gonna be pretty emotional saying goodbye to them. We've gotten pretty attached.
They're going to amazing familes though and that's all I ever hope for for my puppies!
For now, I'm gonna soak up all the puppy kisses and lap snuggles!!

Btw keeping them off the couch is going well as you can see. Field goldens view couches as fluffy mountains that must be summited all the live long day. Zero fear of heights.

Cream "Bao" is still waiting for her forever family to find her. She's so sweet, very smart, is potty training well, sleeps through the night, loves people, dogs, and cats and snuggling on the couch.
She's almost 9 weeks old, current on vaccines and deworming. Akc registered from hunt/field champion bloodlines. Mom is junior hunt titled, dad is a medical alert service dog. Parents have all ofa and health clearances.

And then there were 3!
It's been a busy day here at Monticello Ranch saying goodbye to the babies! All but 3 have gone to their forever familes. It's so quiet now!
Orange collar goes home tomorrow, and Bellingham (grey) goes home in a couple weeks when her family returns from their cruise.
As happens from time to time, we had 1 family back out. They simply weren't ready for the commitment of a puppy. So cream collar is still available!
It is a big commitment and we're grateful they realized it before they took her home. That being said, it's unfortunate that they waited until pick up weekend as I actually was turning people away last week that would have loved her.
She's absolutely precious. The first pup to greet everyone that's come out to the ranch. Climbs right into your lap. She's higher drive, but now that there's only a couple pups left, she's mellowing out quite a bit. She loves to snuggle, drink the condensation from my starbucks cup, has a great nose, and is very smart!
