Last week, our FLINT team attended the Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon, Reality Capture Users Conference in Miami, where Maddy Morrison and Aaron Glavina had the opportunity to present on the reality capture workflows and how they help deliver better projects for our clients. Technology is moving fast, and events like this are a great reminder of how much there is to keep learning, testing, and bringing back to our project teams.

Thank you to Leica Geosystems and Hexagon for bringing together a great group of people focused on where reality capture is headed next. We’re looking forward to applying these tools in the field!

Each recipient brings their own story, goals, and drive for what comes next. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support students who are ready to keep learning, growing, and putting their skills to work.

We’re honored to play a small role in their next chapter and excited to continue sharing more recipients next week.

Four campuses. One shared commitment to creating better spaces for students to learn and grow.

We officially broke ground with San Carlos School District, and it was a special one!

This work will touch four campuses across the district: Brittan Acres School, White Oaks Elementary School, Arundel Elementary School, and Heather Elementary School, creating upgraded spaces for students, teachers, and staff.

Thank you to San Carlos School District, Van Pelt Construction Services, and each school community for the partnership and trust. We're looking forward to bringing these improvements to life.

The welcome center lobby at Gavilan College is coming together with details that make a strong first impression.

JKAE and our team recently installed the welcome center art panels, acoustical wood paneling, and wood ceilings, bringing warmth, texture, and function into a space that will greet students, staff, and visitors every day.

Great work by everyone who helped bring these finish details to life!

And for the final DBIA Western Pacific Region Award, the San José City College Career Education Complex earned the Award of Excellence for Small Business Engagement and Growth in Design-Build.

We're honored to be recognized for creating opportunities beyond the project itself. It's about supporting small, local, and diverse businesses, investing in future industry leaders, and helping strengthen the communities where we work.

This recognition reflects the partnerships, mentorship, and workforce development efforts that continue to open doors for others in our industry.

The awards keep coming for the San José City College Career Education Complex!

The project received the 2026 DBIA Western Pacific Region Award of Excellence for VDC in Design-Build, recognizing the use of virtual design and construction to improve coordination, collaboration, and project delivery.

On this project, FLINT's VDC team worked alongside Steinberg Hart , our trade partners, and San Jose-Evergreen Community College District to coordinate complex building systems long before construction began. Challenges were identified and resolved virtually, constructability was improved, creating greater certainty from design through construction.

That early coordination helped the team build with clarity and keep the focus where it belonged: creating a connected place for San José City College students to learn, practice, and prepare for what comes next.

FLINT and Steinberg Hart are proud to receive the 2026 DBIA Western Pacific Region Award of Distinction for the San José City College Career Education Complex.

This award recognizes Design-Build projects that stand out for collaboration, innovation, and delivering lasting value for the people who use them every day.

Delivered through a Progressive Design-Build partnership with San José-Evergreen Community College District, the project creates a connected hub for hands-on learning. From medical assisting labs to welding and machining shops, the complex helps prepare students for careers in healthcare, skilled trades, technology, and advanced manufacturing while strengthening workforce development throughout the region.

We’re grateful to San Jose-Evergreen Community College District, San José City College, and all of our trade partners who helped bring this project to life: JGM, Miyamoto International, Verde Design Inc. Siegfried, SVM, Cupertino Electric, Inc., Western States Fire Protection, Bagatelos Architectural Glass Systems, KONE, and CIS, Inc.

We’re excited to host a subcontractor outreach event for FLINT’s upcoming San Diego Miramar College Early Education Center project.
