June 9, 2026, is officially North State Mechanical's 10-year anniversary! I took a leap of faith, quit my job, and started my own business as a one-man service, sales, and installation shop for HVAC equipment. I also offered small appliance repair at that time and would do some interesting projects for friends and family that had nothing to do with heating and cooling, but I wanted to make sure I could pay my bills and succeed in a trade that the business world claims has an 80% failure rate within the first five years. Although I never envisioned things like COVID or other life experiences that could add hurdles in this business world, I'm proud to say we've made it, and I'm thankful for the employees and customers who have stuck with me along the way. The logos have slowly changed with the times, and I might be a little bit more gray, and you might not see me as much in the field, but the values and business plan have remained the same, which have been the keys to success. Cheers to year 11 that starts tomorrow.
