Traveling can sometimes feel like a balancing act. 🙋‍♀️

On one hand, you want to maintain habits that help you feel your best. On the other, you want to relax, enjoy yourself, and make memories without worrying about doing everything "perfectly." 🙂

Over the years, I've learned that I don't need to take every habit with me when I travel. Instead, I focus on a few things that make the biggest difference in how I feel.

Here are my travel non-negotiables:
1️⃣ Stay hydrated.
Travel days can be dehydrating, especially when flying. I start my day with water and keep a water bottle with me whenever possible. It's a simple habit that helps my energy, digestion, and overall wellbeing.

2️⃣ Move every day.
I don't worry about finding a gym when I'm on vacation. Instead, I build movement into the trip. Walking through a new city, hiking a trail, exploring a beach, or simply stretching in the morning all count.

3️⃣ Focus on progress, not perfection, with food.
One of my favorite parts of traveling is trying local foods and enjoying meals with the people I'm with. Rather than trying to eat exactly like I do at home, I focus on protein, vegetables when available, and paying attention to how my body feels.

4️⃣ Protect my sleep.
Sleep is the habit that impacts everything else. When I don't sleep well, I notice it in my energy, mood, cravings, and stress levels. I do my best to keep a reasonable bedtime and create a comfortable sleep environment, even when I'm away from home.
Travel is meant to be enjoyed.

For me, the goal isn't to follow every routine perfectly. It's to come home feeling refreshed, energized, and ready to jump back into everyday life.

What is one healthy habit you try to maintain when you travel? 🤔

If you'd like support creating healthy habits that fit real life, at home and while traveling, let's chat. Sometimes a few small changes can make a big difference in how you feel every day.

Sometimes you wake up or move through your day with a vague feeling that something is off, but you can't quite put your finger on it. 😌

💁‍♀️ Before I assume something is wrong, I like to pause and get curious.
Over the years, I've learned that our bodies often send subtle signals long before they start screaming for our attention.

Here are five questions I ask myself when I'm not feeling quite like myself:

✅ When did I last drink a full glass of water?
Even mild dehydration can affect energy, mood, focus, and how your body feels. Sometimes drinking a large glass of water is all it takes to feel better.

✅ What have I eaten in the last 4-6 hours?
Skipping meals, eating too little protein, or relying on processed carbohydrates can lead to blood sugar swings that leave you feeling tired, irritable, or "off."

✅ How much sleep did I actually get?
Even one less hour of sleep than your body needs can affect energy, mood, cravings, focus, and stress levels the next day.

✅ Have I moved my body today?
A short walk, gentle stretching, or a few minutes of movement can often help clear brain fog and boost energy.

✅ Is there something I'm avoiding?
Stress, emotions, difficult conversations, and unfinished tasks can sometimes show up in the body before we consciously recognize them.

Before assuming something is seriously wrong, try running through these five questions.
You might be surprised how often one simple adjustment helps you feel better.
Your body is always communicating with you. 🙂

If you've been struggling with low energy, cravings, stress, sleep issues, or just not feeling like yourself lately, let's chat. Sometimes a supportive conversation can help connect the dots and identify a few simple next steps to help you feel better.

So many women over 40 believe their body is “broken.” ❤️

After years of dieting, low energy, frustrating symptoms, and starting over again and again, it’s easy to believe healthy living just works for everyone else.

Ever drink a smoothie… and then feel hungry an hour later? 🙋‍♀️
You’re not doing anything wrong. Most smoothies are missing the pieces that actually help keep you full and energized.

A smoothie can absolutely be a healthy meal, but if it’s mostly fruit and liquid, your body burns through it fast and starts asking for more food shortly after.
Here are 3 common reasons your smoothie isn’t keeping you satisfied:

1️⃣ Not enough protein
Protein helps stabilize blood sugar, reduce cravings, and keep you full longer. Many smoothies only have a few grams of protein when your body really needs closer to 20-30 grams for a meal.

Easy additions:
• Unsweetened Greek yogurt
• Cottage cheese
• Collagen peptides
• H**p seeds
• Quality protein powder

2️⃣ You’re drinking it too fast
When we drink meals quickly, our brain doesn’t have enough time to register fullness. Try slowing down, sipping it over 15-20 minutes, or even eating it from a bowl with a spoon.

3️⃣ It needs healthy fats
Healthy fats help keep you satisfied and energized longer.

Try adding:
• Chia seeds
• Nut butter
• Avocado
• Coconut cream

My favorite combo for staying full longer? Protein + fiber + healthy fat.
And yes… chocolate can absolutely fit into healthy living. 😊

They’re not running marathons or surviving on salads. They’re not doing a new cleanse every January or punishing themselves at the gym five days a week.

They’re doing something a lot quieter. And a lot more sustainable.

👉They move their body in ways they actually enjoy. A walk outside, a yoga class, some gentle strength work. Not because they have to, but because it makes them feel good.
👉They eat in a way that nourishes them without a lot of rules or guilt attached.
👉They’ve stopped fighting their body and started working with it.
👉They have support. A community, a coach, a friend who gets it. Someone who helps them stay grounded when motivation dips and reminds them of how far they’ve come.

You don’t have to overhaul everything to feel better in your body. You just have to start and keep going, even on the imperfect days.

🌿If you’re ready to figure out what that looks like for you, I’d love to help. I have a free 30-minute coaching session where we map out exactly where to start. Click the link in my bio to book your free session.
