In the employee benefits world. There is always a push pull effect going on between employees and employers over who has the upper hand.
With record unemployment currently occurring. This reminds me of back in 2005 -2007.
Back then. Employers who had not offered a group medical plan, often ended up buying one, to keep their key people, and to hire talent.
In hiring, talent had the expectation of a medical plan being offered by the employer, and if such was lacking. Would go somewhere else that did.
Thus, employers who had not offered a group medical plan decided they needed to do so to retain and attract talent.
