Stable Families is seeking a Child Advocate / Administrative Assistant to help support single parents and their children as they work to avoid and overcome homelessness.

This unique position combines:
❤️ Child advocacy
❤️ Family support
❤️ Ministry
❤️ Administration
❤️ Volunteer coordination

The right person will help create a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment for children and families while supporting the daily operations of our ministry.

Responsibilities include:
✔ Supporting children during classes and programs
✔ Providing encouragement, tutoring, and trauma-informed care
✔ Assisting parents with educational and developmental needs
✔ Helping coordinate volunteers and classes
✔ Answering phones and greeting families
✔ Supporting church and community communication
✔ Helping maintain an organized and welcoming office environment

We are looking for someone who is:
✨ Warm and encouraging
✨ Organized and dependable
✨ Team-oriented and compassionate
✨ Comfortable praying with and supporting families
✨ Passionate about helping children and single parents

Preferred experience includes:
• Child development
• Education
• Family services
• Social services
• Counseling or ministry

Applicants should have an active Christian faith and involvement in a local church.

We're already exploring ways that ICAN and Stable Families can work together to help families facing homelessness in Rome! When the community comes together, we can stop family homelessness for those who are able and willing to work towards stability and greater self-sufficiency.

Wonderful volunteers Bill, Mark, and Rick are hanging the TV in our training room. We use it to help teach our Financial Hope and Great Tenant Skills classes to parents who are working to build lives of hope and stability. Thanks, guys!

Jean, our faithful volunteer, is restocking our Care Closet with donated hygiene, cleaning, and paper products. Our clients can select items, including beautiful handmade afghans, after attending a class or meeting. This helps extend their budgets and care for their families. Let us know if you'd like to help! "HELLO GRACE I HAVE BEEN ON MY GRIND AND I GOT THE JOB I START ON THE 15TH AND I AM MAKING $23HR!!!! GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME I TELL YOU… SOON I WILL NEED A DINNER DATE WITH YOU CAUSE YOU HAVE BEEN A ROCK IN MY CORNER!!!!"

A big thanks to our friends at Delta Lake Bible Conference Center for hosting our Planting Seeds of Hope event last night! They did a wonderful job in making this a very special evening.

Last night, 190 people came together for our Planting Seeds of Hope event united by one mission: to see zero family homelessness in Rome.

Together, we learned more about the realities families in Rome are facing and the importance of providing not only immediate support, but also the tools, resources, and stability families need to avoid and overcome homelessness.

One of the most powerful parts of the night was seeing so many individuals, churches, businesses, and community partners standing side by side for this cause.

A heartfelt thank you to our volunteers, sponsors, donors, speakers, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this event possible. We could not do this work without you.

Together, we are planting seeds of hope that will continue to grow in the lives of families throughout our community. 🌱
