Shorter University's award-winning literary magazine seeks submissions for Fall 2025 issue - The Christian Index ROME, Ga. — Chimes, Shorter University’s student-curated literary and arts magazine, is inviting submissions for its 111th issue, centered on the theme “Blood Into Ink.” The theme refers to a statement by T.S. Eliot, who once described what poets do as "turning blood into ink.”
Hello all, here is the theme and flyer for The Chimes 2026. Deadline, November 15, 2025. Please submit your poems, short stories, art artwork. We have two anthologies coming up later this year. The Chimes last ten years, and teh Chimes since 1879 to 2015.
