Three Rivers Church

Jesus doesn't just tell us who He is—He shows us. In this moment of transfiguration, the disciples witness His glory firsthand, confirming His identity in unmistakable terms. But here's what's even more incredible: this wasn't just for them. It's a preview of OUR future. The same glory that radiated from Jesus on that mountain is the glory we'll experience in our resurrected bodies.

Be still and know that He is God.

Jesus is the true tabernacle. Through His sacrifice, the veil is torn and God's glory is no longer confined to a building—it's revealed in the person of Christ.

Suffering isn't a sign of failure—it's evidence of faith. When you follow Jesus and face hardship for doing what's right, that's not a mistake. That's discipleship. You don't have to pretend it doesn't hurt or put on a brave face. Feel the pain, grieve the loss, and trust that suffering for righteousness is normal for followers of Christ.

Following Jesus isn't a bargain deal—it's costly. Just as Christ gave His life on the cross, He calls us to take up ours too. Don't expect comfort and abundance; expect to need God's grace every step of the way.

Following Jesus isn't about self-hatred or martyrdom—it's about freedom. When we surrender self-reliance and self-determination, we discover God's dependability, power, and perfect timing in our lives. True discipleship means trusting Him completely.

The Great Commission isn't just about preaching—it's spiritual warfare. We're not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers in heavenly places. When we preach the gospel and make disciples, we're physically seizing back what was lost. This is why the mission is hard, but this is why it matters.

Tests are coming, but you don't have to face them alone. Stay close to Jesus, lean in, and stubbornly refuse to turn back. In the midst of a cosmic battle between God's kingdom and this world, your proximity to Jesus matters. He promises: 'If you will come close, I will keep you.' Are you ready?
