What makes Relentless different? 👀

We’re not here to adjust you and send you on your way.
We start by actually listening. We take the time to understand what’s going on, how it’s affecting your life, and what YOUR goals are. Then we build your care around that. 🙌

And it doesn’t stop with an adjustment.

Depending on what you need, your care may include:
💪 Muscle work
🦴 Extremity adjustments
🏃‍♂️ Mobility + stability exercises
⚡ Advanced therapies to support recovery and help you get back to doing what you love

Because our goal isn’t just to help you feel better for a few days. We want to figure out what’s holding you back and help your body move and function better long-term.

That’s the Relentless difference. 🔥

“Your chiropractor isn’t putting your bones back into place.”

And we know… that might contradict something you’ve heard about chiropractic before. 👀

An adjustment isn’t about taking a bone that’s “out” and popping it back where it belongs.

Instead, we’re using a specific adjustment to influence joint motion and give your nervous system new sensory input 🧠⚡️

That “pop” you sometimes hear? It can happen during an adjustment, but it’s not the goal and it doesn’t mean a bone just went back into place.

Chiropractic is a lot more about movement + the nervous system than it is about chasing a sound. 🙌🏼
Dr. Mason breaks it down ☝🏼

🚨 3 things that may make us suspect a disc injury…
Not every case of back pain is coming from a disc. But there are certain patterns that can make us take a closer look 👇

1️⃣ The pain travels
Pain that radiates into the buttock, leg, arm, or hand can be a clue that a nerve may be irritated.
2️⃣ Prolonged sitting or flexed positions make it worse
If sitting for long periods, bending forward, or staying in a flexed position consistently aggravates your symptoms, the disc may be something we need to investigate.
3️⃣ Coughing, sneezing, or straining reproduces the pain
These actions temporarily increase pressure within the spinal canal and abdomen. If they consistently reproduce or intensify your pain, that can be another clue we pay attention to.

⚠️ None of these automatically means you have a disc injury. They’re pieces of the puzzle.
That’s why we don’t diagnose based on one symptom. We combine your history with orthopedic and neurological testing, movement assessment, and imaging when appropriate to figure out what’s actually driving the problem.
Because “my back hurts” tells us where you hurt.
Our job is figuring out why.

“If hanging upside down stretches your back… why would anyone need spinal decompression?” 🤔

Because stretching the spine and clinician-directed spinal decompression aren’t the same thing.

An inversion table uses gravity to create generalized traction through the spine. You’re hanging at an angle, and the amount and direction of force are largely determined by your body weight and position.
With clinician-directed spinal decompression, we can be much more intentional.

We control the:
🔹 Force being applied
🔹 Angle of pull
🔹 Timing of the treatment
🔹 Progression from visit to visit
That means we can tailor the treatment based on the specific spinal region we’re trying to address, how the patient responds, and what we found during their exam.

Inversion can feel great for some people, but when we’re working with disc-related problems, sciatica, or stubborn low back and neck pain, sometimes we need more than just “stretching the back.”

🎯 The difference is precision.

🧠 Why do we check your spine BEFORE adjusting you at every visit?

Because we don’t want to adjust something just because “that’s where we adjusted last time.”
Your body isn’t exactly the same from visit to visit.

You’ve slept. Worked. Exercised. Sat in the car. Picked up your kids. Maybe you even slept like a pretzel. 🥨

So before an adjustment, we check to see what your body is telling us TODAY.

Depending on the patient, we may assess things like:
🔎 Joint motion and restriction
🧠 Neurological or sensory findings
💪 Muscle tone and tension
📐 Posture and movement
🎯 How those findings compare with your symptoms and care plan

Those findings help guide where we adjust, how we adjust, and whether an area needs to be adjusted at all.

Chiropractic shouldn’t be “crack the same spots every time.”
We assess. We find. Then we adjust with intention.
Because the adjustment isn’t the entire process. Knowing where and when to adjust matters too.

🩻 Your MRI says “herniated disc”… now what?

Seeing the words HERNIATED DISC on an MRI report can sound scary, but that diagnosis alone doesn’t tell us everything we need to know.

When Dr. Sean reviews an MRI, he’s looking deeper:
🔎 WHERE is the herniation?
📏 How large is it?
🧠 What structures or nerve tissue is it affecting?
🦵 Does that actually match the symptoms you’re experiencing?
🩺 And most importantly, does it correlate with what we found during your exam?

Because an MRI is a picture, not the entire diagnosis.
Two people can have similar findings on imaging and experience very different symptoms. That’s why we combine your history + neurological and orthopedic exam findings + imaging to understand the bigger picture.

The goal isn’t to treat the scary word written on the report.
It’s to figure out what’s actually causing YOUR problem and determine the most appropriate next step. 🎯

Got an MRI sitting on a disc or in your patient portal and still wondering what it actually means? Bring it with you.

🧠 If an adjustment isn’t “putting a bone back into place”… then what ARE we actually doing?

Despite what you may have heard, chiropractic isn’t about bones randomly “slipping out” and being shoved back where they belong.
An adjustment is a specific mechanical input into a joint that influences movement, sensory information, and the nervous system’s response.

Your joints, muscles, and surrounding tissues are constantly sending information to your brain about things like position, movement, tension, and load.
When we adjust an area, we rapidly stimulate those receptors and change the sensory input being sent to the nervous system.

That can help:
⚡ Improve joint motion
🧠 Influence how the brain processes sensory information
💪 Affect muscle tone and motor control
🙌 Reduce pain and sensitivity for some patients

So that “pop” isn’t a bone snapping back into place, and it isn’t the goal of the adjustment.
The adjustment is an input. Your nervous system creates the response.

That’s why chiropractic is about a lot more than just bones. It’s about how your joints, muscles, brain, and nervous system communicate to help your body move and function.

😬 When it comes to TMJ issues, the adjustment is only ONE piece of the puzzle.

The jaw is a joint surrounded by muscles, connective tissue, and nerves, so addressing TMJ dysfunction often means looking beyond the joint itself.
At Relentless, we may use a combination of:

🦷 TMJ adjustments to help improve joint mechanics and restore better movement of the jaw.

💆 Muscle work to address tight, overworked muscles around the jaw, face, and neck that may be contributing to tension, restricted movement, or discomfort.

🔴 Class IV laser therapy to deliver therapeutic light energy into the tissues, helping support circulation, reduce inflammation and pain, and promote the body’s natural healing processes.

The goal isn’t simply to “pop” the jaw. It’s to address the joint + muscles + surrounding tissues that can all play a role in how your TMJ feels and functions.
If you’re dealing with jaw pain, tightness, clicking, headaches, or difficulty opening and closing your mouth, a more complete approach may be worth exploring. 🙌

🤕 What if your headache isn’t actually starting in your head?

For many people, recurring headaches can be connected to what’s happening in the neck.

Joint dysfunction, muscle tension, altered movement, and irritation of structures in the cervical spine can all contribute to certain types of headaches, especially cervicogenic headaches.

That’s where chiropractic care may help. 🙌 By evaluating how the neck is moving and functioning, we can identify areas that may be contributing to the problem and work to improve mobility, reduce tension, and restore better function.

💡 Instead of only asking, “How do I get rid of this headache?” it may be worth asking, “Where is this headache coming from?”
