Hi guys, we have been in contact with a local t-shirt vendor to see about having products made for our organization.

It is our hope to walk in the Christmas parade downtown. As we continue our efforts to raise money we hope to be able to sell t-shirts and other merchandise soon and be able to start wearing them at events.

Once we are able to start selling these, we will have sizes included for the whole family ranging from infant and toddler to adults.

Please be on the lookout for updates!

I also wanted to share a little bit about me, and why this means so much to me.

My name is Brynna Nichols. I am a 26 year old stay at home mom and military spouse. I have been married to my wonderful husband Zachary for almost 4 years and we and have 2 wonderful children. Daylen, our 3.5 year old son, and Penny, our almost 2 year old daughter.

We took a trip to Rolla to visit family and instantly fell in love with this town. Once my husband deployed, there was no question as to where we would be moving to. We always knew this would be our forever home.

After the move, my son, who has a speech delay, would get extremely overwhelmed with crowds, noises, and certain environments. Things slowly got better over time but it took months for him to adjust to our new environment. Thanks to the wonderful and welcoming staff at RPL, he slowly started opening up. It’s been wonderful to see him come out of his shell and talk more. We started attending regularly and joined in on the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge. Since that challenge, my kids have fostered a love of reading. They started begging to go to the library and often chose to read instead of playing. It was and is a rare site to not see a book in their hands or close by.

I had multiple ideas for what this organization could be but after putting some more thought into it, It got me thinking-surely theirs a need and a want for a traveling story time. It made me realize that families who have to pay out of pocket for appointments can't always afford to go out and do something fun, so why not bring the fun to them? Also, appointment vary in length and time. If a child has multiple appointments throughout the week, weather that is speech, ot, pt, dental, etc, then more than likely, kids are to tired and burnt out to do anything else, so, why not create something that's adjustable to their schedule? Furthermore, children learn in different ways, so why not create a safe space where everyone can be themselves and learn at their own pace? Thus, the ideas of No Matter What Mobile Library was born.

I found a dream and chased it. I had the idea for NMW on January 2, and had my first meeting the following week. I have since been working on the library 30-40 hours a week, mostly by myself. I have dedicated time to lesson plans-books to read, crafts to do, sign language sings, etc., and have emailed, called, and met with various people, organizations, and non-profits to get this up and going.

My motto for the library is "all we need is a chance," and that is exactly what we have been given. We have more families attending each session and more and more people, organizations, and non-profits believing in what we are doing, who have been helping us along the way.

My perspective is this-if only one child attends our sessions, then it was successful. If we only have one attendee then that's one life we made a difference in.

For me, this is truly about meeting children where they are at, either physically, mentally, emotionally, or financially. Every child deserves the right to be included in a judgment free zone where they can foster a love of reading in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment, no matter what.

Because this is so near and dear to my heart, my family has been the sole provider in getting this up and going. Everything NMW provide is free. We will hopefully be able to start providing items such as t-shirts, car decals, and stickers to hopefully generate some income for the organization, but until then we need your help.

For our sessions, kid's get to participate in a small sign language lesson, interactive songs, read-alouds, a group lesson, and individual activities. Children who attend our sessions also get to visit our "Little Library" and choose a book to keep and also receive a themed coloring book.

This years goal it to be able to host multiple sessions throughout the week in various locations that cater to different ages. We have multiple meetings coming up to see and schedule story time sessions.

The end of year goal is to get a bus start renovations. Again we want every child to feel welcomed and included, so some renovations include a wheelchair accessible ramp, support beams, sensory friendly toys and lights, book shelves, heated floors, an ac unit, benches, storage areas, etc.I am hopeful that we will be able to start traveling and providing our services to various towns in Phelps County by sometime next year. Before any of that can happen, we need to take baby steps.

Baby steps include supplies for our current sessions such as crafting materials, books, printing supplies, and legal fees. We will hopefully have a donation drive soon but until then, supplies are running low.

The state of Missouri just cut funding for the Imagination Library program. To me, this is a significant loss for our state. Originally, Missouri was the first state to fully fund the program. Funding went from 6 million in 2025 down to 2 million in 2027. Children can still enroll until July 1, but after that they will not be accepting any more applicants. With our states ranking of 33rd in education, now more than ever children need access to books.

We truly appreciate the community support we have received so far.We are grateful for all of the love our organization has received and how much we have grown in the past 6 months. Thank you for taking a chance on us and helping put books in children's hands.

If you feel lead, believe in our mission, what we are trying to do, and the dreams we are chasing, please consider donating. Any little bit helps. We are also accepting gently used items and would be more than happy to meet at a designated drop off spot.

There summer reading program is wonderful!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of celebrating the Rolla Public Library with a Ribbon Cutting to kick off their Summer Reading Program and welcome them as a member of the Rolla Chamber of Commerce.

This year's program is packed with opportunities for children and teens to learn, explore, and have fun through Dinosaur Discovery-themed activities, interactive programs, special performances, and exciting summer experiences. Beyond the fun, summer reading programs help encourage literacy, spark curiosity, and keep young minds engaged throughout the summer months.

We are grateful for the Rolla Public Library's commitment to providing educational and enriching opportunities for the youth in our community.

Congratulations on a successful kickoff, and we look forward to seeing another great summer of reading, learning, and discovery! 🦖📖☀️
