Vehicle #2, a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado operated by an adult male of Success, MO. The crash occurred when Vehicle #2 failed to yield to Vehicle #1 when pulling out of a business parking lot. There was major damage to Vehicle #1, and moderate damage to Vehicle #2. 856

An adult male, 56, of Rolla, MO, was arrested for Domestic Assault 3rd. He was transported to the Phelps County Jail where he was placed on a 24 hour hold. 849

The City of Rolla has reposed special trust and confidence in the knowledge, courage, integrity, and professional excellence of these employees. In view of these qualities, their demonstrated leadership abilities, and their dedicated service to the Rolla Police Department, the following promotions are effective immediately:
Shawn Wiles is hereby promoted to the position of Corporal.

The crash occurred when V1 improperly backed into V2 striking the passenger side of the vehicle and flee the scene. There was is unknown damage to V1 and minor damage to V2. There was minor damage to Vehicle #1, and moderate damage to Vehicle #2. The occupants of both vehicles reported no injuries and were not

1997 ford F150, operated by an adult male of Salem, Missouri. Vehicle #3, a 2020 GMC Acadia operated by an adult female of Ava, Missouri The crash occurred when all vehicles were stopped in traffic traveling south on Bishop Ave. Vehicle #1 started in traffic, striking Vehicle #2 in the rear, pushing Vehicle #2 into the rear of Vehicle #3. There was minor damage to Vehicle #1, minor damage to Vehicle #2, and minor damage Vehicle #3. The driver of Vehicle #2 reported minor and was transported by EMS.

Re: Sexual Assault Investigation
On June 5, 2026, the Rolla Police Department received a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a patient receiving treatment at a medical facility in the 1000 block of West 10th Street. Detectives immediately initiated an investigation, which included interviews, collection and review of evidence.
As a result of the investigation, James H. Todd, age 42, of Ripley, Tennessee, who was working as a contract nurse at the facility at the time of the alleged offense, was arrested and later charged with:
•Two counts of So**my in the First Degree/Attempted So**my in the First Degree
•One count of R**e in the First Degree/Attempted R**e in the First Degree
•One count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree
Todd was transported to the Phelps County Jail, where he remains incarcerated without bond.
The Rolla Police Department is continuing to investigate this matter.
The charges for which the above-mentioned suspect was arrested are merely accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
