HUGE! Vaginal birth bans hit the Wall Street Journal! A few really great doctor quotes in here, like the one attached, and:
> Waverly Health Center, a 25-bed hospital in Waverly, Iowa, made VBAC deliveries available last year because of patient demand, says Shannon Lau, an OB-GYN at the hospital. “We were losing them as patients... I think that VBAC can be done safely if you just keep your hands off the patient and let her labor. We just intervene too much, and that’s a problem.”
> “In general it’s much easier to do a repeat c-section than a VBAC,” says Iffath Hoskins, director of patient safety and quality and a high-risk obstetrician at NYU Langone Medical Center in New York. “It’s easier for the doctor and the system to avoid many hours of labor.”
