Our first Earth Day! 🌎 πŸ”₯πŸ’š

Did you know? Prescribed burning has been used for thousands of years by indigenous peoples of North America to improve hunting conditions, encourage growth of desired plants and reduce the risk of wildfire. Today we continue to use prescribed burning as a land management tool. Through safe burn practices we can prevent wildfires, maintain ecosystems, and support native plants and species.

Thanks to everyone in the community who visited our table. We hope you learned something about fire πŸ”₯

What a difference just 2 months can make!

We revisited Dr. Duvernell's property 2 months post-burn. We took the opportunity to ID some plants and saw tons of fresh healthy growth. We even saw monarch butterfly larvaπŸ›πŸ¦‹

Today S.A.F.E checked out our new plot of prairie land! We did some plant ID and surveying in preparation for future clean up and burn. We’ve got natives like Winged Elm, Persimmons, Sassafras, Mountain Mint and even saw deer tracks and blue jays
