Full shot of my piece for Rising Tides, entitled “Two Point Five,”now on view 111 Minna Gallery, benefiting PangeaSeed ™ and all the rad work they do raising awareness about oceans and their conservation efforts.
This piece refers to the 2.5 degree Celsius tipping point we are careening towards with the current world leaders shortsighted pi***ng contests and useless greed. The white chrysanthemum represents death, beauty and loss, and the petals are falling faster than ever. It’s a weight we all carry in the back of our minds everyday, but at least I got to hold it, front and center with some grace, while making this piece.
Had such a blast seeing everyone at the opening this Friday, don’t get to get out much with two small kids, but every time I go to Minna I know it’s going to be a Bay Area artist reunion. I was reflecting that I first had work hosted at 111 Minna in 2010, it’s a testament to their programming and team that were all still here showing work and showing up all these years later. Big shout out Tré and Akira for building the platform on which this community it has grown, Bay Area art fam is the best in the world. Luv yall!

“Are We There Yet” acrylic and enamel on panel. 30”x30”
I have just been following where the painting path has taken me, and it’s taken me to psychedelic sunsets. To me, the vibrant sunsets of spring and fall are not only sublime windows into the majesty of the natural world, but they are also a metaphor for the approach of the end of a journey, and the poetic short-sidedness of mankind.
I painted this as the final piece in a series of sunset paintings that started with a painting I made for an Old Caz Art Walk a few years ago. Seemed fitting to wrap the series up at my solo Art Walk display , which you can see for another couple of weeks. The metaphor has evolved and expanded, but man I still love painting sunsets. I guess this is growing up. Paintings look a little different, but the feelings stay the same.
This painting is still available, DM me for purchasing inquiries.

Another epic year in the books , riding with my fam. Great seeing all the folks in Salt Lake, truly inspired by the amount of energy and work coming out of that city. Got to do some fun flash and custom stuff this year, can’t wait to come back again.
If you got tattooed or wanted to, send me an email or message here to get on my Salt Lake City client list, and be contacted when I’m coming back, really hoping to make it back out this summer.

Made matching additions and some touch ups for my friend Katie, who always brings the vibes and the cool ideas. Drawn on to match-ish a previous drawn on a few years ago. Thank you homie!

Finally finished this painting I started last year, just in time for the end of the Year of the Wood Snake. I started this last February, and it has come together in fits and starts over a full year. Lots of breaks and late nights post bed, do-overs, spills, and adaptations. But, I am happy with how it is in all its grueling imperfections. I have been wanting to paint a series of these Japanese style foregrounds with heavy calligraphy backgrounds, but between running a shop, being a parent, painting walls, tattooing, art shows, travel and surviving mental health rollercoasters in the midst of late-stage cap, this is the only painting I made for myself. Hopefully will inspire me to make more. This is meant to be a painting, but also a tattoo design, so if you are keen to get it tattooed, or something like it, tap in!
I have some time left in February for tattoos, and am booking for both and . I also have definitive plans for tattooing in Salt Lake City, and Portland this spring, as well as hopeful plans for Los Angeles, Hawaii and maybe more this year. Holler if you think I should come visit your city or if you want to be added to my current guest spot list. Thank you all for your support, excited to transition into the Lunar New Year with positive energy!
