Learning more about your fears and challenges and overlapping symptoms can be helpful in pointing to what tools can help. What works for some folks may be different than what works for you… and that’s okay 👍🏼 A therapist with with experience in working with neurodiverse traits can help — We are all learning this together..

Healing is not linear. It's not just about managing symptoms—it's about growing in strength and capacity. There's a difference between "feeling better" and "becoming better or stronger."
When coping with stress, symptom management isn't the entire solution. As we heal, some of the boundaries and strategies that helped us at the start may no longer serve us—and that's okay! It means we're evolving, becoming more flexible, and learning new tools to build greater resilience.

Dissociation can seem like a bad word. Here is some information on dissociation, what activates this survival mechanism and what we can do to lessen the frequency and intensity of experiencing dissociation if it is distressing. A Spanish version coming up next... 💛
Be gentle, be kind… and if you can’t use gentle language, that’s okay, maybe try to be curious about it. Being kind means taking our guard down, and we may not be in a safe enough environment to do so, or we may be in a safe enough environment but parts of us don’t know it yet.
A balanced approach to dealing with depression involves looking at it from different angles, like making lifestyle changes, seeking therapy, considering medication (if needed), and leaning on social support. It’s important to remember that depression doesn’t mean something is wrong with you. While genetics can play a role, there are also larger systems in place—like societal pressures, family culture, attachment trauma, environmental stressors, and life circumstances—that can make some individuals more vulnerable. Whether it’s a diagnosis, chronic, or caused by a life transition, depression is influenced by many factors, and there are always ways to care for yourself and manage symptoms effectively. AND most importantly you don’t do all this at once or be “perfect” at it. Focusing on one or two at a time is enough, it gets the ball rolling🙃
