In the book The Seven Cries of Today's Teens, the author, Timothy Smith, points out that not all trust is "earned." You have to offer it to allow someone to begin to rebuild it.If opportunities for rebuilding aren't offered, discouragement will take over and teens (all people) will quit trying.
