First Friends Preschool

No school tomorrow, Jan. 28th. We crossed our fingers and toes and paws, hoping for warmer conditions, but the icy roads are still hanging around, so Rogers Schools have closed. Hopefully, we’ll have lots of thawing tomorrow so we can get back to school on Thursday!

You know the weather isn’t great when Mrs. Matthews is forced to wear shoes!
Rogers Public Schools are closed tomorrow, January 27th, so First Friends is closed too. Doug says it’s a great day sit in your favorite chair and have a snack.

Rogers Public Schools has closed for school on Monday, January 26th so First Friends will be closed too. Everyone has checked the window and Doug decided that lying on the couch is a great way to spend the day!

Mrs. Matthews went to kindergarten too!
This is the face of someone who loved to go to school and still loves it. ❤️
The transition to “big school” can be emotional in many ways. I was a little scared and alot excited, and I cried on the first day every single year. (Even all four years of college!)
I was ok, and all of our babies who head out to school this month, from kindergarten to graduate school will do great! This year marks the 21st group of children to head off to kindergarten and we hope they have an amazing time!

The gardens at First Friends are in full production! They will be plenty to share with families tomorrow, so be sure to stop in the vestibule and get something home grown and delicious!

First Friends is looking for more friends! We are currently enrolling for fall classes for children ages 2.5 - 5 years old. We know budgets are tight, so this year we are offering some options with all of the fun but fewer days. We are happy to give tours any time. If you know someone looking for preschool, please pass this along! 😊

The playground gardens at First Friends are our favorite place to be! We have already harvested sugar snap peas and green beans and we eagerly await the tomatoes, blackberries, lemon cucumbers, beets and the blooming of our giant sunflowers. We will definitely be entering the Arkansas Grown School Garden Contest this year!

Right before then end of the school year, we noticed a nest in one of our new trees. It had 4 beautiful robin eggs in it. Today, we saw that the eggs have hatched and there are four new babies in there!

We have been waiting patiently for the first chick to hatch here at First Friends and today was the day! From pip to hatch was about 10 and a half hours.

No school tomorrow… again. If Doug had thumbs he would 👎🏻 He is ready for his mom to go back to school because she has extra time and gets ideas like “Let’s trim Doug’s toenails!” or “Lets find and wash all of the dog toys!” or “Let’s make marmalade!” Since he has to be with Mom everywhere she goes, standing in the kitchen while she makes marmalade really cuts into his naptime.
Poor Doug.

This is Doug the Dog! He likes to go out in any weather. His grandma made him a pretty coat and he wants to go outside and see if there are any squirrels visiting the bird feeders. Even with his coat, he only goes outside for a few minutes. Stay warm out there!
