What common household items can you grow food in? 🌱👀
We challenged the kids to think outside the box—literally. From boots to paper bags, we’re showing that growing your own food doesn’t always require expensive materials.
What household item would you grow food in? 🤔
We’re investing in the next generation one experience at a time thanks to the Ripple Effects Youth Summer Camp. 🔥
We couldn’t do everything, so we did something. 🤍
What started as a candle business grew into honey, seed books, gardening education, and a mission to fight food insecurity. We may not change the whole world, but if we can change someone’s world, that’s enough for us. 🌱🕯️🍯
Thank you for allowing our family to do this work. If you’d like to be part of the mission, visit our website—5% of every sale supports our nonprofit partner, Ripple Effects, and their global food security initiatives.
The tire garden is bringing up conversations we don’t talk about enough. 🌱
Not everyone has access to backyards, raised beds, or food-grade grow bags. I want people facing food insecurity to feel empowered to take the first step toward growing their own food with what they have.
Maybe the question isn’t, “Would you grow food this way?” Maybe it’s, “What would you do if this was all you had?” 👀
POV: You love gardening… but you’re tired of dragging the hose around in the sun every day. 😂🌱
This DIY self-watering hack might just change your summer.
Would you try this in your garden? 👀👇
The best classroom doesn’t have four walls. 🌱💚
We’re so excited to partner with Ripple Effects and their youth summer camp to give kids from our community hands-on experiences they’ll never forget. This week, they explored the garden through a scavenger hunt and planted seeds in their vegetable garden. Throughout the summer, they’ll harvest from the garden, learn about hydroponics, explore the beehives, and so much more.
We’re planting more than seeds—we’re planting lifelong lessons. 🌻🐝
North Carolina is the leading producer of sweet potatoes, so of course we had to grow some in our tire garden! 🥔🌱
Here’s an easy way to get started growing sweet potatoes right at home.
How well do you think they’ll grow in our tire garden?
Our tire garden has the internet divided 😅🌱
A lot of people have been asking if it’s actually safe to grow food in tires, so we wanted to show the extra precautions we took to create a safe growing environment.
At the end of the day, this garden is about showing people that growing your own food can be more accessible than they think. 🤍
Would YOU eat food grown like this? 👀
Spent the morning working in the garden, packing orders, and delivering candles to Larema Coffee House 🌱🕯️
After being outside in this NC heat all morning, that smoothie was exactly what I needed 😭🤍
Be sure to stop by for a smoothie and check out our candles while you’re there!

🌱 Garden check-in! What’s your garden looking like right now?
Whether you’re growing in raised beds, buckets, containers, or just getting started, it’s never too late to learn how to grow your own food.
Our Grow Your Own Food Seed Book was designed with beginners in mind, and families everywhere are learning how to grow fresh food right at home. 🫑🍅
Drop a photo of your garden in the comments — we’d love to see what you’re growing this season! 🤩
We’re so grateful we had the opportunity to travel to Kenya with our nonprofit partner, Ripple Effects, and experience Charis Farm. 🌱
One thing I learned on that trip is that growing food is about creativity and resourcefulness, not perfection!♻️
So we took what we had access to and started building something meaningful right here in Rocky Mount.
