We weren’t lazy
We weren’t careless
We had two full-time incomes and were still drowning

Every bill felt heavier
Every month felt tighter
And I was exhausted trying to hold it all together

I almost didn’t start
I almost let fear and doubt keep me stuck

But I thank God I didn’t
Because now I don’t panic when the bills come in
We paid for Christmas without a single swipe
And I finally feel like I can breathe again
