I am a closet ✍️ writer, but this thought has recurred on my heart for a few weeks prompted by various conversations with friends, coworkers and even a stranger on the plane. One of the best coaches I’ve ever had told me: “Don’t worry about the last person in your role, or how someone else might make decisions. Lean into who YOU are and what your purpose is — that’s your superpower.”

The moment I actually started living that out was when my ideas finally started to breathe and build upon each other in a more meaningful way. I feel like it takes a while to get to that place where you feel comfortable being fully you. Sometimes life has to slap you in the face with a redirection that changes everything. I don’t recommend that approach, but it’s effective, lol. It’s particularly challenging when your life doesn’t look like the “perfect” or “traditional” version you imagine everyone else is living. But our lives are so, so precious and gosh, they’re not very long.

We owe it to ourselves to let our hearts lead us toward what feels right for us. Real impact doesn’t come from trying to fit in — it comes when you’re willing to be you. When you can clearly define why you do what you do.

James 2:18 has always been one of my favorite verses — a reminder that faith and action go hand in hand. And through those things our light shines so bright!

We each have a tiny corner of this huge universe. The way you light up your corner matters more than you think. So share your voice, your ideas, your light. Not theirs.
