Another Watts Water Technologies 957 repair. This one had 1/2" nut lodged in the #1 check spring. Replaced the rubber parts on checks and relief, flushed and cleared the rusted build up around the test ports.

The Watts Water Technologies 009m2qt will develop a small crack at the relief valve opening causing a steady stream from the relief. In my experience, replacing the o-ring will not seal and the assembly has to be replaced. This typically happens in freezing temperatures, but this was in an interior pump room. Also replaced the 1/2" watts 009qt #1 check and cleaned the relief.

Backflows in Long Beach California.

Repaired four Watts Water Technologies 957 backflows at an apartment complex. All had rusted pieces stuck in the bottom of the #1 check valve. The last one ripped on the sleeve o-ring while reassembling. They are simple to repair but this design is not cost effective for the end user. Even with wye strainers, the rust comes from build up around the test ports internally. I would recommend if it's use the 009 model or use if possible. Test Gauge & Backflow Supply has them all.

We replaced an old 850 with a 350AST. We had to keep the old inlet gate valve due to the main gate valve at the meter not closing.

This Ames 4000ss repair went fairly smooth. The first time rebuild on the relief was humbling. I would recommend Watts Water Technologies make a 994 to 957 relief conversion adapter. It took 15 attempts to get the rubber part to fold just right. Thank you to Test Gauge & Backflow Supply for warning of what a pain it was going to be.

All Watts Water Technologies products tested today. The first picture of the hydrant meter assembly was replaced with a 009m2qt rpz.

The 8" Ames 2000SE uses 6" check valves and are the same checks as the Watts Water Technologies model 774. This one required a #1 check replacement. Thanks to Test Gauge & Backflow Supply for insuring we were given the correct parts!
