Hey Dancers!

It can be hard to go on break when you love dancing and training daily! Here are some tips to focus on while you’re on break!

Keep Moving 💦
Stay active with walks, swimming, stretching, or light cross-training to maintain strength and endurance.
Stretch Consistently

Even 10–15 minutes a day can help preserve flexibility and make returning to class much easier.

Nourish Your Body Well 🥗
Fuel yourself with nutritious foods, plenty of water, and adequate protein to support healthy muscles and growth.

Rest and Recover🛏️
Prioritize rest and sleep and allow your body time to recover from a busy season.

Stay Inspired ✨
Watch a ballet, attend a performance, listen to beautiful music, or spend time creating. Artistic growth continues even outside the studio.

We can’t wait to see you back at the studio, we miss you all! 💗

As we move between the close of this remarkable year and the beginning of our Summer Intensive, we will be sharing some not-yet-seen moments and artistic reflections from the journey we experienced together!

One memory our dancers continue to return to is the impact of our Exodus production.

In this image, our dancer portraying Jochebed is lifted high in an arabesque as she raises the baby Moses toward heaven. Behind her, two singers stand atop pyramids, beautifully proclaiming through song that this child has come to deliver his people from bo***ge, a foreshadowing of the greater Deliverer to come, Jesus.

There was something profoundly moving about seeing dance, music, and Scripture unite in this moment. The vulnerability of a mother placing her child into God’s hands, the promise of deliverance, and the unwavering faithfulness of God all converged in a scene that continues to resonate deeply with us.

Seeing art through the lens of Scripture elevates it because it allows us to perceive deeper realities beyond the immediate beauty of the work. Art can move our emotions, but Scripture helps us understand why it moves us and what eternal truths it may be reflecting.

Today, these words from Scripture seem especially fitting for this artwork:

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.” — Isaiah 43:2

This artwork speaks about a mighty God who does wonders and faithfully walks with us through every trial. As artists we can perceive through the eyes of faith, and art becomes not merely an expression of human creativity but a reflection of divine truth. It invites us to marvel not only at the work itself, but at the God whose beauty and glory it reflects.

We are still hearing, three months later, about the powerful and lasting impact of our Exodus production. This fills our hearts with joy as we reflect on what a significant year this was at Ballet Rejoice.

Featured here you see some of our young dancers also singing in the production! God worked beautiful miracles among us as our united faith brought His beauty and glory to light through both song and dance.

We cannot wait for next year as we continue to grow our choir and expand our dance-choral collaborations. We look forward to creating even more opportunities to worship, inspire, and share the Gospel through the arts in unique ways. ✨💕

“Singers and dancers alike say, ‘All my springs are in you.’” Psalm 87:7

This beautiful verse points to God as the fountainhead of the arts, from whom every creative gift flows like a spring from its source. It is a joy to see both singing and dancing united in our productions, two beautiful streams flowing from the same divine fountain. This is one of the reasons we encourage our dancers to sing and our singers to dance at Ballet Rejoice! As you consider classes for the upcoming year, we hope you will join us across multiple art forms, find out more on our website 🎶

Why should every dancer at our school learn to sew?! 🩰🪡

Every dancer will eventually need to pick up a needle and thread, whether it’s to sew pointe shoes, mend costumes, or even create custom pieces of their own someday!

Featured here are two original, custom-designed and sewn ballet recital costumes from our production of The Little Mermaid last June. Every ballet we’ve created has required custom costuming, from headpieces to full costume designs.

Learning the fundamentals of sewing is an important skill for every dancer. That’s why we’re offering our Sewing Camp this summer! I can’t tell you how many dancers I’ve taught to sew their pointe shoe ribbons who had never even held a needle and thread before.

We hope you’ll join us July 14–16 to begin learning the basics of this valuable art form, practice skills and create a fun project.
