A magical way to invite bird watching up close! A perfect activity for littles: Pinecone Bird Feeders. A personal favorite spring and summer activity that brings us closer to nature. Half the fun is collecting pine cones out in the wilderness. This year we got our large pinecones up in Lake Tahoe. It is such a joy to hang these bird feeders near a window and anticipate and watch for when the birds land on the pinecones & enjoy the bird seeds and peanut butter. 🦜

Symmetrical Butterfly Painting- a playful way to learn about symmetry. We made these for Mother’s Day and our class loved them so much. One of my students kept checking on the drying process hopeful to make a second for himself. (He was in luck!) When we made the butterflies we used black and white pipe cleaners for the antennas, Instead of black paper.

A sure hands-on-science project to make anyone smile! These grass heads are not only so much fun to make, but exciting to show up to preschool each day to watch the grass hair growth progress! Some we needed to trim and pluck unwanted grass from noses or eyebrows etc. so funny! We loved making their clothes from yogurt containers and deciding how to personalize them with earrings, or glasses and the finishing touch of a smile.
