Facility Support Services, On-Site Leadership Spotlight | A True Mission Partner

Evelyn, BAC’s Project Manager at NASA Langley Research Center, recently demonstrated that approach through several innovative facility solutions.

When traditional chemical stripping was damaging terrazzo flooring in a high-profile building, Evelyn researched manufacturer specifications, documented the damage, and drew on more than 25 years of floor-care experience to reintroduce mechanical grit screens.

The result? The customer moved away from traditional waxing, helping preserve the terrazzo while reducing the time required for floor care and addressing stubborn rust and grime left by aging file cabinets.

Evelyn also found creative solutions to two other facility challenges using 3D printing.

Working with NASA Makespace, she developed custom 3D-printed caps to cover countertop openings left behind when built-in soap dispensers were removed. This provided a precise fit while avoiding the cost and disruption of replacing or repairing the countertops.

She also helped address inadequate sanitary product storage in restrooms by developing custom shelving designed for the site's specific needs.

These solutions helped reduce costs, address recurring customer concerns, and improve the experience for facility users.

That is what a true mission partner looks like: seeing the challenge, understanding the customer’s needs, and finding a smarter way forward.
