Yesterday, I had the opportunity to host a Magical Bayou Princess and The Frog Prom Premiere for Antwonette! I’ve watched her magical transformation since she was just a toddler because she’s the 3rd generation family member to be a mentee in KFACT! Her sister Kia is a KFACT Alumni and her cousin Destiny was KFACT’s very first mentee!

Antwonette is more then beauty she’s pursuing a degree in Nursing this fall and we can’t wait to see what all she accomplishes her 1st year of college!

Thank you Antwonette and Delicia for allowing me to be apart of the Magical Bayou it’s a honor to be part of your forever family!

Love, Mrs. Shamika & KFACT

KFACT has another mentee who has graduated with her Masters Degree while working full time, volunteering in the community and maintained at 4.0 GPA!

Rockford help us congratulate our very own Cortrice on her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood while working in the community as an Early Start Professional with kids birth to 3!

We are so proud of you Cortrice, and can’t wait to pair you up with your KFACT mentee, you’re inspiring!

LET’S TALK ABOUT IT: Real Life Scenerios

Last week KFACT focused on “Real Life Scenerios” at RPS205 middle schools. Examples of conversation starters included:

*** Have you ever been peer pressured and gave in? How did you feel? What was the outcome? Would you do it again? Pros and Cons?

*** How would you feel if a friend left you out of a group photo or outing? Is this a personal offense or were you just not around or available?

*** Has a friend ever copied you? Were you flattered or irritated? Could it be that they admire you or that you have an influential personality?

*** How do you know if a friend is truly a friend?

The conversations were VERY interesting and the girls were able to share stories and give advice.
