It was a fun-filled day at Seabreeze for the 2025-2026 winners of the Do The Right Thing of Rochester Award!

Mayor Malik Evans presented a proclamation honoring 30 years of DTRT on behalf of the City of Rochester, NY and Monroe County, and we presented scholarships to two past winners of the Do the Right Thing Award who are graduating seniors. This is the 3rd year of The Summit Federal Credit Union/Do The Right Thing Scholarship, which is presented annually at the DTRT Day at Seabreeze.

This year's recipients are: Christian Major, a senior at Gates Chili HS, who will be attending SUNY Brockport to major in Nursing; and Kaitlyn Pozzuolo, a senior at Churchville Chili HS, who will be attending Roberts Wesleyan University to major in Adolescent Education with a minor in History.

Do the Right Thing Awards for young people aged 5 - 18 are organized by the City of Rochester Police Department and take place throughout the school year. If you know a young person deserving of this award, visit https://www.cityofrochester.gov/departments/rochester-police-department/do-right-thing-awards to nominate them!

We're on a mission to make sure that our seniors do not fall victim to scammers!

Through our series of FREE seminars, we're giving seniors and caregivers the tools to protect themselves against fraud. We cover topics such as what types of scams are out there, what techniques scammers use to coerce their victims, and what to look for if you think you are being scammed.

This spring, we presented seminars at the Cortland County Office for Aging; Greece Public Library; and Penfield Senior Center, Henrietta Senior Center, and Webster Parks and Recreation, Webster NY Senior Center.

If you are a community organization that serves the senior population in your area and is interested in hosting a fraud seminar, please contact Tina, our Senior Business Relations Account Executive, at [email protected].

If you are looking to stay up-to-date on the latest scams, check out our Fraud Prevention page: www.summit.org/StayAware.

Congrats to all graduating seniors! 🎓

We loved celebrating the Class of 2026 and honoring this year’s recipients of The Summit Scholarship. These scholarships support college‑ and trade‑school–bound students who embody "people helping people" through hard work and community spirit.

This season, we joined award nights at Churchville-Chili and Webster Schroeder High Schools, attended the Ibero-American Action League, Inc. Scholarship evening, and even welcomed some winners into our branches.

Our impact this year:
🔹 6 Scholarships awarded from The Summit
🔹 1 scholarship to a graduating Latino student through Ibero American Action League
🔹 3 members of The Summit received NYCUA Rochester Chapter Scholarships

We’re proud to support the next generation and wish all graduates a future full of success and possibility.

Par for the Cause ⛳

East House's Annual Par for the Cause Tournament at the Links at Greystone was a huge success. This sold-out tournament supported East House's mission to empower individuals in recovery from mental health and substance use disorders to recover and live healthy and fulfilling lives in their community.

It was a textbook day for golf, and 144 players enjoyed the links-style course, along with a 50/50 raffle, a shot at hitting the floating green, fantastic raffle prizes, and dinner. We volunteered at the event to support East House, as they are one of our member groups and are able to offer the benefits of membership to The Summit to their employees and clients.

Juneteenth of Buffalo Festival is one of the oldest and largest in the country and we were happy to support this event again this year!

Our staff had a blast meeting so many Buffalo friends and neighbors at our booth. Not only were spinning our wheel for prizes at our tent, one lucky family went home with a family membership to Explore and More!

We can't wait for next year! 💙

An evening of family‑friendly music under the summer sky! 🎶

We’re thrilled to sponsor the Children’s Gazebo Concert Series at Kennelly Park in the Village of Fairport for the second year in a row. These concerts are packed with lively, interactive performances made just for kids, and they’re the perfect after‑dinner outing for families looking to unwind by the canal!

The series kicked off last night with Mike Kornrich Trio, and we had a blast passing out swag and Summit beach balls. Nothing beats seeing families dancing, laughing, and enjoying the music together.

There’s still time to join the fun! Two concerts remain:
🔹 July 21: Mr. Loops
🔹 August 18: MisterGreene

Bring the family and some camp chairs, grab a spot by the gazebo, and enjoy a free night of music and memories. We’ll see you there!

Fun at CiceroFest! 🎉

This past weekend we celebrated the North Syracuse community at the annual CiceroFest! We loved being out there alongside our neighborhood businesses, soaking up the sun and honoring everything that makes this area so vibrant.

Our team had a blast spinning the prize wheel, handing out Summit swag, and connecting with so many friendly faces. Events like this remind us why we love being part of this community.

Remember, your friends at The Summit are always here for your financial needs. You can find us right in Syracuse at our two convenient locations on Erie Boulevard and Taft Road.
