On Friday, September 26, we gathered at the RIT Inn & Conference Center for a truly unforgettable evening — the Black Tie Gala Dinner. This elegant event marked a meaningful celebration of community, culture, and connection, kicking off Rochester Deaf Awareness Week with style and pride.

From the red carpet entrance and beautiful décor to the warm conversations and lively energy throughout the night, it was a moment to remember. Guests dressed in their best, enjoyed a delicious dinner, and celebrated the incredible strength and unity of the Deaf and signing community.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made this night possible:
- Our planning committee and volunteers who dedicated countless hours to every detail
- Event sponsors and partners for their generous support
- Our emcees and speakers who brought energy and inspiration to the stage
- Performers and special guests who made the night even more magical

And of course, every attendee who joined us to celebrate and support our shared mission.

This Gala is more than just an event — it’s a reflection of our community’s creativity, resilience, and unity. Your presence and support mean the world to us, and we look forward to continuing to uplift and amplify Deaf voices together.

With love and gratitude,
The Rochester Deaf Awareness Week (RDAW) Team 🖤✨

Lori and I had the great opportunity to meet the rock climbing staff, and they are amazing people, especially since they know ASL. So, if anyone wants to learn how to climb, contact them and just go!
