The Rochester Fire Department says three of its firefighters were thrown into High Falls while trying to rescue a person stranded on a nearby island below the falls over the weekend.

RFD requested help from the U.S. Coast Guard as they say conditions worsened. A Coast Guard helicopter was able to rescue the stranded person.

A jury found Rahjule Keeton guilty of second-degree murder and robbery in the killing of a James Hallenbeck, a 29-year-old Rochester musician.

Prosecutors say Keeton shot and killed Hallenbeck during an August 2022 robbery on Olean Street in Rochester.

Firefighters put out a tractor fire Monday in Victor. This was about 1,300 feet off the road. Three acres of grass also caught fire. The fires were put out using UTVs and brush trucks, with a water fill site at the road.

BREAKING OVERNIGHT: A stolen car chase early this morning ended in a parking lot of a Tractor Supply store in Sweden. The chase went through Chili, Rochester, Henrietta and Brockport.

The driver is charged with Grand Larceny, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest and Unlawful Fleeing.
