Ladies, this one is for you!

Women veterans and currently serving women service members are invited to apply for a special all-women fishing retreat on beautiful Rainy Lake, September 24-26, 2026.

Hosted with support from the Freedom Fishing Foundation, this weekend will include fishing, fellowship, great food, and an opportunity to connect with other women who have served.

Only eight participants will be selected, so don't wait to apply.

Veterans Empowered, Inc. is hosting the 1st Annual Freedom Golf Tournament and Silent Auction on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Lake City Golf Club.

Proceeds from the event will help support disabled veterans.

DAV Chapter 28 members gathered this week to discuss upcoming events, review our 2026-2027 budget, and continue our mission of supporting veterans and their families throughout Southeast Minnesota.

Some highlights from the meeting included:

🇺🇸 Updates on Women Veterans Recognition Day, Honor Bound Veterans 5K, Rochesterfest's Tribute to Veterans and First Responders, and our upcoming Veteran & Family Picnic.

🇺🇸 Review of local fundraising efforts, including the successful Andy's Thank a Vet campaign and planning for future events that help fund veteran support programs.

🇺🇸 Discussion of several requests for assistance and community partnerships, including support for veteran recreation opportunities, adaptive hunting initiatives, transportation assistance for a veteran returning to Minnesota, and family-focused veteran events.

🇺🇸 Continued planning for DAV representation at the National Convention and efforts to strengthen membership engagement throughout our chapter.

Everything we do is made possible by our members, volunteers, donors, and community partners. Thank you for helping us continue to serve veterans, their families, and survivors across Southeast Minnesota.
