TAHOE 200 - Kelsey McGill - Alpenglow Endurance, LLC is a total bad a**!
I had the pleasure of crewing and pacing this chick right here!
Kelsey, you are a total inspiration. Watching you complete this run with grace and strength was truly incredible.
Until the next one! 😘🤍

Pretty sure they are real.
i’ve heard of money being left on the ground, laced with fentanyl. The person waits for someone to come pick it up….
I was pre-skeptical at first looking around, but I’m pretty sure these are actually real hundred dollar bills.
60 minute recovery run returned home $200 richer lol

It was a hot one.
Here’s what I did:
- wear an ice bandana
- kept my sleeves wet
- had 200g of carbs
- 3L of water
- 3000mg of sodium
But I never:
- looked at my watch
- or ran faster than endurance
Seriously, never looked at my watch.
Learning how to tune into your body is the biggest superpower.

Trail runs.
Sunrises, sunsets.
Chef-prepared food.
Big adventures.
And a few days with people who love the trails as much as you do.
Comment RETREAT if you want the details.

You’ve asked for a recap of the race, I’m still processing.
Will be making a full recap but in the meantime..
Here are some of my favorites from Sedona Canyons 125

Did I have a good race? No.
We all have off days, off races.
Did I want to give up? Yes.
Every step was a fight on day 2.
Did I go back and finish what I started? Hell yeah I did.
The race wasn’t what I have envisioned, and it mentally destroyed me on the second day. Things feel apart early on, and it spiraled and spiraled until I had to step off the course to reset.
There was no way I was going to drop if I still had time on the clock.
I slept for 8 hours. Woke up and went back out on the course.
The last 50k was a blast, getting to run with all the 40milers was a blast and I was feeding off their energy.
Not the race I wanted but a race I am proud to have finished.

It has (almost) nothing to do with looks.
The real reason I strength train every week is because of how it changes the way I navigate trails.
I am able to take more ‘risks’ bombing downhills.
I’m able to run hard and recover faster.
I build the mental strength of sitting in the discomfort.
But mostly, there’s something about doing a hard physical thing consistently (outside of running) that quietly raises the standard for what you’re willing to tolerate in every other area of your life.
I am more disciplined with my sleep, more intentional with what I eat, and somehow, more consistent with the boring life admin I used to put off for weeks.
If you would like guidance with strength training go to the link in my bio and book a free call me.

Cancún for the start of the taper, yes please!
Cancún actually came at a perfect time. Just over 2 weeks out from Sedona Canyons 125 ( races), my training started to back off in intensity.
I stayed on the main resort strip of Cancun, so the running path felt safe to run each day (thank god!) I would have ran on the treadmill but I’m so glad I didn’t have to.
Here have been the runs:
Thursday: Rest
Friday: 1:45:00 at Endurance
Saturday: 1:15:00 with 20min @ Steady State
Sunday: 1:30:00 at Endurance
Monday: Rest day
Tuesday: 1:00:00 at Recovery
No strength these last couple weeks - tapering to be ready to go May 6th!
I’m feeling strong and ready to RACE! LFG!
