As someone who has a history with the foster care system I can assure you this is a horrible decision by Iowa’s governor. We don’t need to make it easier. We need to make sure children are being put in the care of qualified, caring, and capable families. This opens the door to more mistreatment and abuse in a system that is already overrun with it.

Prospective foster parents in Iowa will no longer have to complete a standard 30 hours of training after Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a bill into law that she hopes will make it easier for people to become foster care providers. ⬇️Click the link in the comments to read more

A ceasefire in the Iran war.

Donald Trump said Tuesday he’s agreed to a two-week ceasefire with Iran—on the condition that Tehran reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Israel has also agreed, according to a White House official, and Iran’s Supreme National Security Council says it has accepted the terms.

In a statement, the council said Iran will begin negotiations with the United States in Islamabad on Friday, while emphasizing the ceasefire does not mean the war is over: “Our hands remain upon the trigger… any error by the enemy will be met with full force.”

These are actual social media posts from the President of the United States. I think any rational person can read these and understand Donald Trump is mentally unfit for office. These posts are the latest in a long history of inappropriate, unethical, immoral, and illegal behavior by Trump that prove he’s a danger to our democracy and the American people. We’ve protested in record numbers. Now it is time for our elected leaders, Democrat AND Republican, to stand up and do what’s best for our nation.

Impeach, Remove, convict. He’s not a president. He’s a criminal.

Gas prices are reaching $4 a gallon in some places, the highest since 2022. And while U.S. Presidents don’t directly control gas prices, you can blame Donald Trump for this increase because the surge is due to the war in Iran. Prices have jumped 35% since Trump started the war without congressional approval. Trump campaigned on promises of keeping America out of war and getting prices down for American consumers. He has done the opposite. And while Joe Biden was president in 2022, and the record high gas prices back then were due to the war in Ukraine. Ending that war is yet another failed promise of corrupt Trump.
