MBWP Writing Retreat 2026 This pilot writing retreat will feature writing prompts, workshopping, sharing, and a writing marathon. Available to all writers 18+.

Teacher camp 2026 will be June 22-26 from 9am-1pm. Held on the campus of Oakland University with special tours of Meadow Brook Hall, this unique professional development opportunity will encourage and inspire you, while you also earn 15 SCECH. After completing the Teacher Camp, you will also be eligible to teach at our youth summer writing camps if interested.

Summer Institute - Meadow Brook Writing Project - Oakland University We invite you to join an invigorating and fun method of professional development for writing teachers. Our teacher camp is held at the historic Meadow Brook Hall for five half days over the course of one week. The camp participants earn credit toward Teacher Consultant Certification from MBWP (.25).

Only two weeks until Side by Side!

This year, Side by Side will focus on a root tenet of the National Writing Project: Teacher as Writer. Part of the afternoon will discuss the philosophy behind this concept and how it benefits our students as well as our writerly selves. The rest of the afternoon will be a writing workshop, with time to write, share, and practice various skills.

This free event will be held on Saturday, March 21st on the campus of Oakland University from 1-4pm, and we can't wait to see you there!
