Congratulations to our partner, BreatheDeep, on their impactful community showcase at MCC's Black Box Theater yesterday. BreatheDeep is the only local organization training teens to become certified to teach their peers about positive mental health. Through song, poetry, acting, and spoken word, the teens demonstrated their knowledge and passion as Peer Ambassadors. We appreciate this amazing resource in our community! We are proud to announce our continued partnership with Common Ground Health's initiative, Healers Village which employs a culturally responsive, relational approach to healing and wellness to transform mental health systems. This grant aims to increase Rochester's capacity to provide an expanded continuum of trauma-informed and culturally responsive mental health services and supports to BIPOC people, training practitioners in indigenous psychotherapy and antiracist/culturally competent therapies. Continuing its bold leadership in the sector, Healers Village plans to develop a learning collaborative and a train the trainer module to sustain the work locally for the future. This $150,000 grant is payable over three years. Learn more:

Thank you House of Mercy (Rochester, New York) for bringing dignity into the conversation by humanizing those who are experiencing homelessness. They do not need to be stigmatized (incorrectly) as criminals, but need a chance at recovery, mental health support, and/or financial assistance. https://foxrochester.com/news/good-day-rochester/house-of-mercy-staff-leaders-talk-trump-crackdown-on-homeless #
