🇺🇸 Thank you to U. S. Coast Guard Station Rochester for hosting us yesterday and helping make another Delayed Entry Program (DEP) swear-in one to remember!

SR DiNatale and his family had the opportunity to tour the station and learn firsthand from the incredible crew before he proudly took the Oath of Enlistment.

We’re proud to have been a part of this special moment — and this isn’t the last you’ll see of SR DiNatale! He’ll be shipping off to Cape May this September to officially begin his Coast Guard journey. Stay tuned! ⚓️💪🏽

❄️ Ice Safety Reminder! ❄️

With temperatures dropping, we’ve noticed an increase in ice fishing activity on the inshore ponds and Irondequoit Bay. While enjoying winter activities, safety should always come first—especially on the Great Lakes.

Remember the acronym I.C.E. before heading out:

I - INFORMATION
âś… Check the weather and ice conditions beforehand.
âś… Know your route and have a plan to call for help if needed.

C - CLOTHING
✅ Dress to prevent hypothermia—layer up and wear bright colors to stay visible.
âś… Remember, low visibility and sudden weather changes can easily disorient you.

E - EQUIPMENT
âś… Always carry safety essentials:
• Marine radio
• Personal Locator Beacon
• Life jacket
• Ice picks/screwdrivers for self-rescue

Stay prepared, stay visible, and stay safe! Let’s make this winter season enjoyable and incident-free.

If you need any assistance please contact local EMS (911) or Coast Guard Station Rochester directly at: +1 (585) 342-4149

🚨🚤 Coast Guard Station Rochester Visits Ivan Green Primary School! 🚤🚨

This week, members of Coast Guard Station Rochester had the pleasure of visiting Ivan Green Primary School in the East Irondequoit School District!

Our crew had an amazing time sharing what we do to protect and serve on the water—from exciting search and rescue missions to upholding maritime law enforcement. We brought along some of the essential life-saving equipment that we use every day, giving the students a firsthand look at how we keep our waterways safe.

The visit was more than just informative—it was interactive and fun! The children enjoyed coloring activities and reading time with our crew members, making it an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

A big thank you to Ivan Green Primary School for the warm welcome and the opportunity to connect with the future stewards of our waterways! 🇺🇸⚓️
