Music in Sweet Harmony! The Lady Slippers Quartet will be our special musical guest at our May dinner meeting on May 20. Watch for details in the Highlights newsletter which will be sent out early next week.

This morning a new statue was unveiled honoring Amelia Witherstine, a true pioneer in Rochester’s history.

Amelia was the first woman elected to the Rochester School Board (1911), the first woman to serve as its president (1914–1923), and the first woman to serve on an Olmsted County jury (early 1920s). Her leadership, determination, and commitment to public service continue to inspire civic engagement in Rochester today.

Artist Credit: Gille and Marc (Australian artists most renowned for their whimsical animal statues) who offered a special “Statues For Equality” project to encourage honoring the recognition of more women across the world!

We enjoyed hearing Hudda speak in Owatonna.

Kathleen received the AAUW Minnesota Young Women for Equity Award this year. She was nominated by our branch.

Kayla Betzold, sustainability coordinator for the city of Rochester, will be the speaker at our October General Meeting Wednesday evening at Charter House.

Some of us were able to meet our scholarship recipient at an event at UMR Saturday morning.
