Thank you Assemblymember Harry Bronson for working with us to create legislation that helps keep our extraordinary library workers safe! AFSCME Rich Canazzi Robert L. Leonard

The Library Worker Protection Act has passed the Assembly! In the aftermath of book bans, some libraries and library staff have experienced threats and harassment, some people even threatening library workers with weapons, which has created an unwelcoming and unsafe environment. The provisions in this legislation are necessary steps to provide protection for the staff and their communities so that access to library resources is available and accessible for ALL!
