We were founded in 1961, by three mothers, as the Day Activities Center (DAC). All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

PossAbilities creates opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to contribute to and connect with their community. PossAbilities provides day services for individuals with disabilities in Olmsted County. Last week we went on a library outing and stumbled upon a construction themed Dance Party! Great books were checked out, the music was groovin', and bodies were movin'.

Yesterday we enjoyed a fun tour at Honkers Stadium. Cassie had the opportunity to practice her singing skills on the microphone, and everyone got to learn more about America's pastime.

"I am in STARS, I work on the Mayo Job (Employment), and I am a Participant Leader!"

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
"To fly so I could go see my family in Ireland!"

What is a major accomplishment you are most proud of?
"That I make lots of cool new friends and that I'm a good friend!"

What is your favorite hobby?
"I love to travel!"

What is a fun fact about yourself?
"I'm Irish and I was born in Ireland!"

Another day, another adventure (and laughter all around).

Life Enrichment went on a wonderful excursion to the History Center of Olmsted County yesterday. The reports are in -- We had a ton of fun!

Pictured are some of our individuals barely containing their excitement as we gear up to go, then learning how Mayo Clinic was founded, and learning about the fascinating history (and present!) of IBM.

How long have you worked at PossAbilities?
"I started working at PossAbilities' Seniors Program in 2019. I moved to Florida for a short while in 2020 but came back in the summers to work in our Life Enrichm ent program before starting back full-time about 3 years ago."

What drew you to this field, and how did you get started?
"I love helping people and love to see a smile on their faces!"

What is your favorite part about your job and why?
"It is very rewarding because we don't always know what people have been through, and I love to be a friend!"

What is a fun fact about you that may surprise people?
"I like to fish, and I hate being by myself. I like to be around people!"

What is your favorite hobby, activity, or creative outlet?
"I love road trips!"

What is your favorite food or cuisine?
"Spaghetti"

PossAbilities will be presenting with six other lovely businesses at Thesis Beer Project this Wednesday (May 20th) from 5 to 7pm to talk about volunteering, opportunities, and helping our community.

Attendees in the Life Enrichment STARS program enjoyed the calm, therapeutic sound of Tibetan singing bowls by master musician and educator Brenda Warner. A PossAbilities Direct Support Professional, Brenda spoke about the historic tradition of the singing bowls for use in healing and meditation. Thank you Brenda!
