We’ll just another quick reminder that furnaces don’t last for ever! Regular inspections to check conditions is essential to operation and safety!

This Lennox 1993 had 6 cracks in the 3 chambers of the heat exchange! A carbon monoxide ticking time bomb for this home!
And again no working carbon monoxide detector present! (required in Minnesota with in 10 feet of bedrooms)

I’m wondering about all those people who elected or were talked into not having a home inspection in the last 2 years that it is such a great idea! In 2021 I found 22 furnace with cracked and failing furnaces!

Please check smoke detectors and CO dectors are present and working!

Home inspection cost $400, new furnace $3-$4000.00!

Don’t forget to clean those gutters! Looks like most of the leaves are done for the year better tackle this job before it’s all frozen in for the winter!  if we get one of those crazy winter rains, you could end up with the water in the basement! 

As we start the heating season, it’s always important to remind everyone to update that furnace filter. I think this one here might need to be changed! (About 2 years ago!)

Want to buy a furnace? Don’t change the furnace filter, they started at about $4000 now!

Well we’re deep into the heating season but after Tuesday I thought it’s time for a reminder! 23 years of inspections and I’ve looked at 1000’s of furnaces. But I may found one that goes in the top five of most damaged heat exchangers I’ve found so far, out of the 20-30 units I find annually. While doing video camera inspection of the 1996 Comfortmaker furnace heat exchanger chambers I found 1 crack in each chamber, and hole in the center chamber as big as a mini tootsie roll!

This furnace was pumping carbon monoxide into the duct work of the home! No CO detection was present, required by MN law with in 10 feet of bedrooms!

THE BUYERS OF THIS HOME WERE NOT GOING TO HAVE A HOME INSPECTION BUT THIER AGENT INSISTED!

As I played games with their children on my tablet I was thinking how lucky this day was to put us all there together and Heat Exchangers Inc for training me to be able to check these furnaces!

Check furnace filter!
Have your furnace checked!
Have a working carbon monoxide detector!

Heating season is over (maybe) time to check that built in humidifiers condition! This one was a bit past due a change I think! (plus it was stuck on)

This filter is past change date! When i have to tear it out of the furnace cabinet its past the 30 day change! 31 furnaces i found this year with cracked heat exchangers half of them had filters this bad present, average filter $2-3 bucks, average furnace replacement 3000.00 what do you want to buy!

CHANGE 1 INCH FILTERS EVERY 30 DAYS!

Might be time to change humidifier water panel if it looks like this!

Don't forget to check the dryer vent! Prevent fires, keep dryer running!
Clean vent!
